Integrating Mindfulness for Parents and Children Together (IMPACT-C)
For primary aged children and their parents.
We have developed and delivered a highly innovative IMPaCT-C programme which integrates Mindfulness for parents and children together.
Does your child:
- Find it hard to self-regulate emotions?
- Struggle to manage big feelings?
- Overreact to minor difficulties?
Does your child's behaviour:
- Impact your relationship with them?
- Impact your family life?
Then attending this course may give them, and you, some tools to help manage these feelings better.
The IMPaCT-C Programme:
Is designed for primary aged children and one parent to help them manage relationships and big emotions where they might be struggling with poor behaviour and attendance at school.
The course is delivered to children and their parents together to enable a shared understanding of the course materials, with the intention that the parent and child goes on to practice the skills together at home, between sessions and into the future. Parents will be given practical activities to carry out with their children to support the development of pro-social behaviour and reduce undesirable behaviour.
The presence of a parent and child in the room together facilitates shared learning, modelling of helpful behaviours, attitudes and positive changes to develop in the relationship between both the parent and child.
The feedback for this training has been highly positive, with both parents and children reporting improved focus, attendance, better behaviour, increased understanding of big emotions and an improved ability to talk about them.
