About the Event
Online Mindful Yoga Course
This course is an opportunity for staff to engage at home with the nourishing and holistic practices of yoga and mindfulness. By slowing down in our busy lives, we can start to connect more deeply to our body, mind and heart, and so help to create stability and insight. The practices also help us stay connected with each other – to lift our spirits particularly at this challenging time.
Yoga combined with mindfulness is well suited for helping stress, tension, or feeling anxious since these practices positively develop wellbeing and healthy lifelong habits. You will be encouraged to practice between sessions, but there is no obligation to do so
The course is suitable both for those who have previously participated in mindfulness or yoga courses, or for beginners new to mindfulness.

What to expect The physical yoga postures for online classes will be gentle and carefully paced to allow sensitive ‘listening’ to the body. Classes will include accessible movement, breath practices, mindfulness and compassionate meditation, and relaxation. Personal reflection will be woven into each class and an opportunity for sharing your experiences of the class.
Level of Ability The classes are suitable for people with all levels of physical ability. A typical class will offer movements whilst standing, sitting, kneeling, or lying down. Where required, postures can be adapted or modified for safe practice. If a particular posture is not suitable, you are invited to visualize doing the movement or leave it out.
What you will need
- A non-slip yoga mat
- Yoga blocks or a couple of cushions
- A blanket
- A yoga-belt (or a tie)
- A chair or ground cushions for seated meditation
