Farzana Ahmed
Psychotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher
Farzana is a British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) accredited Psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, working with adults and young people presenting with a range of psychological difficulties. Since training with Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) in 2018 she has been delivering paws b, .b and .b foundation for staff in schools.
Farzana trained at the Tavistock clinic, completing her Master’s in Counselling in 2004, with a focus in Counselling in Education. This led to a close working relationship within the education sector.
Farzana is currently working within an Education Trust in Kent as a Counsellor, Clinical Staff Supervisor and delivering the MiSP training courses in Schools. The Trust has 10 schools within it, both Primary and Secondary.
Farzana works in West Malling where she has a small Counselling Private Practice working with adults and young people. Farzana works with Employee Assisted Programmes (EAPs) including the Local Authority Counselling provision, Supportline and with Private Insurance Companies such as BUPA. She has trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which she uses in her therapeutic approach with clients as well as elements of Mindfulness and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT).
Since personally practising Mindfulness, Farzana has experienced the calm and compassion this can bring to daily life and is keen to share these positive impacts to others.
Farzana’s interests include history, current affairs, reading and spending time in nature. She likes to keep current in recent developments within the therapeutic world by attending conferences, workshops and relevant training.
